nutritional supplementsI was walking around the yard this morning looking at all the great plants that can be used as nutritional supplements. I have a huge hedge of rosemary, which is wonderful when tossed in the bathtub for a muscle-soothing bath. In my front yard I have many aloe vera plants that are the backbone of many nutritional supplements, both for internal and external use. I use the aloe almost every day for my skin and include it in some of my beverages for a healthy dose of its healing properties.

Then in the summer I pick the fruit from the prickly pear cactus I have in my side yard and put them through a juicer to get the fantastic juice from a fruit that has been proven to prevent heart disease and diabetes. The crowning glory of my homegrown nutritional supplements is my pomegranate tree in the front yard. This tree is only seven years old but it has an incredible yield each fall. Nothing is better than growing your own, and these pomegranates are simply delicious.
