Nutritional Supplements for Kids Who Hate Vegetables |

Last week I watched a science show on public TV that opened my eyes to why some kids refuse to eat vegetables. It seems that there is a taste bud gene that some people have that makes green vegetables taste bitter to them. Happily I don't have that gene, and there isn't a vegetable I don't like. Unfortunately, my cousin's kids inherited that gene from their dad, so they have to take nutritional supplements every day. Fortunately technological advances have made it possible to isolate the health-giving properties in food and put them into pills, powders, or liquids, so that her kids get all the plant nutrition they need daily without having to eat the "ghastly" vegetables. It's so important for people of all ages to get good daily nutrition, but if they can't, the next best thing is nutritional supplements. My cousin orders them online because she gets great products at discounts on the sites she uses. Her kids' health is too important to ignore, and we're just glad that there are nutritional supplements they can take until their taste buds mature. |
